Hali’imaile General Store 30th Anniversary Events and Specials

This October, Hali’imaile General Store will begin a year of celebration to mark their 30th year in business on Maui. Please mark your calendars to celebrate on the 30th of each month beginning in October 2017. Please note that the specials and promotions below cannot to be used with any other promotion.

October 30th 2017– Our new fall menu launches! Featured on this menu is our retro dish, Schezwan Barbecue Salmon, from our 1995 menu. To celebrate the beginning of our 30th year in business on Maui, on October 30th, all dinner entrees are $30!

November 30th 2017– Lunch and dinner at Hali’imaile General Store on November 30th with feature a short menu of our vintage menu items from November 30th, 1988 for one night only!

December 30th 2017– Stop in to Hali’imaile General Store to toast the new year and order one of our three vintage cocktails featured this evening only!

January 30th 2018– On January 30th, Hali’imaile General Store will offer a Lobster Boil menu item, complete with all of the delicious trimmings! Make your reservation for this special night!

February 28th 2018– At Hali’imaile General Store, we will be celebrating the Chinese New Year with vintage Chinese influenced dishes such as duck with steamed buns, firecracker shrimp, and more.

March 30th 2018– On this evening, we will be featuring a few of our favorite wineries in a casual dining environment with action stations and pairings. Reservations will open for this special event in early February.

April 30th 2018– It’s almost May Day! At Hali’imaile General Store on April 30th, we will feature lei makers and celebrating our relationship with our Hawaii Ohana. Each guest will receive a complimentary lei with every dinner entree purchased. Also, Hali’imaile General Store will be joining the Maui Humane Society in celebrating National Adopt A Shelter Pet Day on Monday, April 30 by donating a portion of the proceeds from that day’s sales to benefit Maui’s homeless animals.

May 30th 2018– Eat Dessert First! Indulge your sweet tooth with a one night only vintage dessert menu from Hali’imaile past.

June 30th 2018–“Pig and Pinot” event that will highlight Bev’s favorite BBQ dishes and a featured winery. RSVP for this special event will begin in early May.

July 30th 2018– Our next special event will feature our neighbors, Hali’imaile Distilling Company and their spirits. The pairing night – Three course paired with mini cocktails featuring our Hali’imaile Distilling Company infusions. RSVP for this event in early June.

August 30th 2018– On August 30th, Hali’imaile General Store will host a “Burgers and Brews” Night, featuring a special Burger menu with pairing from Maui Brewing Company. RSVP for this special event in early July.

Sept 30th 2018–“Tacos and Tequila” night will be the last of our summer events, and will featuring a special Tex Mex menu and Tequila pairing!

October 14th 2018– Hali’imaile turns 30 years old! Mahalo to our Maui community for supporting our business and allowing us to create memories with you! Special event in October 2018 to celebrate, details to follow.

Hali’imaile General Store shares recipe: Summertime is for BBQ’S!

Hali’imaile General Store is excited to share a delicious summer recipe perfect for your summertime BBQ plans. You can find more delicious recipes in Bev’s “Family Style Meals” cookbook.

Firing up that grill? Why not add Bev Gannon’s signature barbecue sauce to your grill items?

Hali’imaile General Store Barbecue Sauce:

2 tablespoons margarine

2 onions, chopped

3 cups ketchup

1 1/2 cups canned red chile sauce

1/3 cup cider vinegar

1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1/3 cup yellow mustard (any brand)

1/3 cup dark molasses

2 teaspoons cayenne pepper

1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce

2 teaspoons liquid smoke

Juice of 1/2 lemon

Juice of 1/2 lime

Juice of 1/2 orange

Salt

Freshly ground black pepper

  1. To prepare the sauce, in a heavy saucepan, melt the margarine over medium heat.
  2. Add the onions and sauté for 5 to 6 minutes, until translucent.
  3. Add all the remaining ingredients, stir to blend and bring to a boil.
  4. Decrease the heat and simmer, uncovered, for 2 hours, until thick and reddish brown. Makes about six cups

Hali’imaile General Store announces the Kama’aina discount on Maui

 

Hali’imaile General Store announces a fantastic Kama’aina discount that begins July 1st 2017. This discount is valid with a Hawaii State ID. The discount for local residents includes 20% off of dinner entrees and buy one dessert get one free with purchase of a lunch entree.

 

This offer is not valid with any other promotions or discounts.

Happy Hour Resumes Starting May 17th!

Hali’imaile General Store’s Happy Hour resumes starting May 17th after our winter hiatus. We will continue to feature our popular bar menu along with a host of cocktail specials including:

$6 wines by the glass
$8 cocktail specials featuring Pau Vodka*
$5 well drinks
$8 well martini’s
$4 Maui Brewing Company beers

Happy hour will be available Monday-Friday from 3:00-5:30 pm in designated areas. We will have inside and outside seating on the front lanai.

*Pau Vodka is made across the street by our friends at Hali’imaile Distilling Company. Check out their website for tour information.

5-Course Italian Wine Dinner

Hali’imaile General Store is pleased to be partnering with Young’s Market Company, a premier distributor of fine wines, in sharing the outstanding Italian wines of the Tuscany and Piedmont regions during a special 5-course Italian Wine Dinner on Friday, April 28, 2017. The evening will feature a menu prepared by Hali’imaile General Store Executive Chef Marc McDowell along with wine pairings presented by special guest Master Sommelier Patrick Okubo.
